Breakfast of champions

  • Jun. 27th, 2008 at 7:09 PM

Since the summer began and I've been getting up later and later, I've found the typical Korean breakfast of kimchee jigae to be more satisfying that my usual fare of bagel/cream cheese or cereal. This dish was made via Maangchi's website recipe, and it turned out wonderfully. If you stumble onto her site, please note that tuna or spam can be used to substitute out for the raw and uncured/unseasoned pork bellies.

Bento breakfast

I recently bought a little Lock & Lock container from Atlanta. At first, I thought that the tiny little container would be good for toting snacks, but after seeing how much Lunch in a Box's creator managed to fit in similar sized boxes (300-350 ml) I decided to use it as a breakfast box instead. Good thing too; usually I'm too tired in the morning to fix a breakfast. This way I can store in the fridge until the next day when I grab-and-go.

Left side: 1/2 a cubed persimmon and fishy with soy and vinegar sauce
Right side: Rice and egg omlette roll.
